Nail Fungus Treatment

nail fungus

No one will dispute the fact that getting sick from anything is not a pleasant occupation. And when it comes to a fungal infection, there's nothing to say about it, and of course there's nothing good about it. The treatment of toenail fungus is a long and time-consuming process, but it is still worth doing as the consequences and complications can be several times worse than the disease itself. The infection spreads to the entire limb or even the foot and creates major movement problems.

Toenail fungus is just one type of infection and it can affect other parts of the feet as well: feet, other toes, and so on. According to statistics, about 25% of the world population, sooner or later, seek a doctor with this infection. And if it hurts too, then it definitely means it's time to treat your leg fungus.

But luckily there is a cure and it's not that difficult to cure the fungus permanently. There are so many forms of treatment that anyone, if they want, can find a remedy that only treats their leg pathology.

Treatment of a fungus on the big toe is prescribed by a dermatologist after consultation with the patient. This takes into account the individual characteristics of the patient, in particular, their allergic reaction to any component of the medication. If there is, it is necessary to prescribe its analogue and not worsen health.

How is this pathology treated?

First, if a fungal infection is suspected, it is necessary to remove the infected area. Where is she? That's right - in the big toe, or where it hurts. It also happens that the severe stage of the fungus and the later course of the disease decreases, and a removal operation is performed on the surface of the affected area. Treatment is prescribed by a specialist dermatologist and no one else.

To treat this infection, modern medicine has created a wide variety of medicines, both for the nail itself and for the finger itself, and for the entire lower limb. It's not just pills—most of the time, not even pills—but a variety of creams, ointments, leg nail polish, and much more. To make the treatment as effective as possible, experts combine these methods to treat nail fungus.

Treatment with folk remedies

What to do if you have a sore thumb and you haven't had time to see a dermatologist? You need to drown the pain with at least something, you need improvised means, and traditional medicine can help you with that. Our ancestors noticed the properties of some products for centuries, and their many years of experience are used by people today.

So what could it be?

  1. Potato peel. After peeling the potatoes, set aside the clean potatoes and remove the skins. This recipe doesn't specify how many cleanings you need, so the more the better. They should be placed in a pot (large volume), filled with water and cooked until the skin is soft. It should be very soft so you can easily crush it in the pan. When the bark reaches this state, the feet and the infected nail are soaked with the resulting liquid. So it's important that the pot is big. After scrubbing, it is necessary to wash the mass from the toe and toe, scrub with lard, and put on warm socks. This dough does not have an unpleasant smell and is easy to use on your feet: it is necessary to rub it daily until you are absolutely sure that nothing hurts and that the infection will no longer bother you.
  2. Water + 70% vinegar solution. As in the previous case, the exact amount of ingredients needed to cure a fungal nail infection is not specified, there is only one instruction to take equal parts of both ingredients. The dough is infused into the ready mix - of course, you need to be careful that nothing remains afterwards. The mass is placed on the affected nail and the area around it is sealed with duct tape. The procedure is performed for three to five days, until the nail is completely separated from the finger. And if it doesn't, you're doing something wrong.
  3. Lemon, whose juice is rich in various nutrients and nutrients, can also help against nail fungus. From a lemon you need to cut a circle, divide it into two parts and place half on the nail. The compress is set, the lemon juice does its job. This treatment lasts from 8 to 10 days, depending on the results achieved.
  4. Aspen bark can be used as a foot bath and your thumb will thank you for it. To do this, you need to grind the husk and take out 100 grams of the husk per half a liter. All of this is mixed and poured into a small bowl, where the legs are steamed. Next, you need to prepare the following processing liquid: 1 teaspoon of crushed soap (preferably household) is mixed with the soda to form a paste. Lubricate the affected nail and the entire finger, if necessary.
  5. Two cloves of garlic must be chopped to the maximum, after which they are mixed with heated butter in a volume of one hundred grams. The resulting liquid is infused for one day. Can be used to apply to the nail after water treatments. This method is good because it has been practiced for a long time - a whole month, although the treatment is done regularly, but the result will appear after seven days: the defeat of the thumbnail will start to recede. Nothing hurts, and new disputes do not appear.
  6. Sea salt can also be used in the bath: it is dissolved in a liter of boiled water and the feet are steamed. If necessary, the salt concentration can be increased by calculating one tablespoon per liter of hot water. The main thing is not to exaggerate and be as accurate as possible in your calculations. These baths are carried out for two weeks, after which the result will be visible and the fungus will begin to recede.
  7. Mountain ash can only be found at certain times of the year (summer), but at the same time it is of great importance for the thumb, whose nail is infected. To carry out the treatment, the rowan leaves are crushed to form a gruel, which must be applied to the nail affected by the fungus. After ten days, you can stop this procedure.
  8. Some flowers that grow outdoors have a layer that is very rich in nutrients and minerals that nature has endowed them with. They are flowers such as chamomile and string, which can be picked to aid in healing. Violet, most considered a houseplant, also belongs to the herbs that can be used in the treatment of nail fungus. The crushed flowers are mixed and poured into a liter of boiled water. The liquid is infused for two hours and filtered. You can dip a piece of gauze into the dye and make a compress out of it, which should be changed every time the fabric dries.

It is possible to treat nail fungus with the help of traditional medicine, but it is still better to consult a doctor. If you err in concentration, the fluid that is supposed to treat the illness instead makes the problem worse. Therefore, it is extremely important to be registered with a practicing dermatologist and, if desired, one can consult them about nail treatment with folk remedies. The expert will determine how helpful they will be in your case and will come to a reasonable conclusion.

Prophylaxis

Big toe fungus has an unpleasant characteristic that is inherent to all fungus in any part of the leg: it has the property of returning. Therefore, it is very important to choose the correct preventive measures and to do everything possible to reduce the risk of a return. Even an intensive and combined treatment does not guarantee total safety against toenail fungus.

First, when the patient is cured, the shoes need to be disinfected. This will help remove spores that may have remained there during the course of the infection and, in the future, may independently cause a foot fungus.

It is very important to keep your feet in an atmosphere that is conducive to their healing. For example, keep them warm and, if possible, avoid crowded places where the infection can spread, such as swimming pools, gyms, and other places where a skin infection spreads with profuse sweating, especially on the legs. The fungus is easily transmitted and anyone who has had it is at risk of contracting the infection more than anyone else. Therefore, in order for the treatment not to be in vain, everything possible must be done.
